Thank you for starting this conversation with your article! I think it’s a meaningful conversation to have in the crypto-sphere. I agree Blockchain can have a significant impact on reducing poverty, but while we develop these strategies I want to remind developers not to go to a country as a white-knight. I’m currently in the Philippines and what I see is that Blockchain also have an effect on the wealth disparity. The efforts of most of the people in the Blockchain sphere is grounded by assumptions on what the lifestyle of the poor is, but to them poor is anyone not living up to a western standard. It’s damaging to the population who can’t access these technology simply because they don’t even have electricity and internet connection to begin with.
